A series of architectural renovations have been made to renew the geographic shape and appearance of the Port of Cattolica.
The entire area is now significantly upgraded by combining the glorious heritage linked to a great nautical history and honour with modern urban planning and guidelines that create new dynamic economic opportunities.
Adjacent to the “Historic" fisherman’s dock basin you will find a newly constructed Dock Basin reserved for yachts and recreational craft only.
Also, located directly between the two dock basins there is an elegant new image given, thanks to a semi circular squared Fountain made to the likeness of an old ship to commemorate the ancient vessels that used to begin and end there journey’s at the Port of Cattolica, the so called “trabaccoli” of the high seas of the Adriatic.
Moreover a brand new drawbridge with a streamlined modern design now connects Cattolica to Gabicce Mare crossing the port’s channel with its span.
It is the preferred landscape and route for those who walk, bicycle or a just want to take an adventure of sightseeing; it is the sign of vocation for the social ecology and liveability of the urban planning adopted for this area.
There are many retail shops and trendy boutiques as well as Cafes adjacent to the bridge, topped by a tower there is the pride of the whole port, called The Inner Dock, succeeded by recently expanding the port channel and moving the shipyard further upstream.
At The Inner Dock you can see a beautiful exhibition of the most impressive vip yachts produced in the nearby shipyards by world famous luxury yacht builder.
The night life at the inner dock, boasts the most dynamic and trendy venues where you can enjoy fine or casual dinning, enjoy a romantic evening, wine tasting, dancing or special parties and events. It’s definitely the in “spot”.
